As an editorial writer and columnist for Oklahoma's largest newspaper, the Oklahoman, over the past 15 years I have offered readers sprightly commentary on a wide range of national and international issues, on politics and government, on current affairs and trends in the news.
In presenting my perspective on life in today's crazy mixed-up world, I try to do it with a touch of humor. That's because I strongly believe in the power of laughter to help relieve the anxiety and strain of these stressful times.
Currently I am producing these columns:
Potomac Junction - A "wickedly witty" column about goofiness in government and political shenanigans ... written by a veteran of both the newsroom and Capitol Hill. Published since 1989 in the Oklahoman, "Potomac Junction" also is read by thousands on the newspaper's prizewinning Internet Web site www.newsok.com.
Ed Kelley, editor of the Oklahoman, says: "The column is an often humorous glimpse into the workings of Washington, with emphasis not only on elected officials but the bureaucracy and its many quirks. The writing is breezy and the humor is apparent. I haven't found another column quite like it."
Now I'm No Expert - But that doesn't mean I don't have opinions ... and I'm not shy about expressing a point of view on a variety of subjects and situations, as I've been doing for well over a decade. This column is a welcome escape from the heavy headlines, a moment to smile about things that bug all of us from time to time.
